LAXTON'S nrm

LAXTON'S nrm BUILDING PRICE BOOK

The RICS quantity surveying and construction professional group research into the problems associated with the measurement of building works at all stages of the design and construction process has come to the conclusion that significant improvements were required. The result is the RICS new rules of measurement - nrm which are a suite of documents issued by the RICS Quantity Surveying and Construction Professional Group. These have been developed to provide a standard set of measurement rules that are understandable to all those involved in a construction project. The rules aim to take a cradle-to-grave approach to the procurement of construction projects, and include cost estimating, works procurement and post-construction procurement. nrm2 replaces the Standard Method of Measurement for building Works ('SMM') which were first published by RICS in 1922 with the latest edition being SMM7, published in 1988.
The RICS have stated that nrm2 will become operative on the 1st January 2013 or earlier although it is likely that many will continue to use smm7.

Laxton's Publishing Limited has released the LAXTON'S nrm Building Price Book since 2013.

Laxton's Publishing Limited has also released a matching LAXTON'S smm Building Price Book.

In addition Laxton's Publishing Limited has now released both books as fully bookmarked PDFs on CDs.
